Why sunrise and sunset shift in San Diego
The seasonal movement comes from Earth's axial tilt and orbit, while the clock also changes with daylight saving time. The Sun does not move through the civil clock at a perfectly even rate, so the earliest sunset and latest sunrise are not exactly on the winter solstice.
